It´s funny to be a foreigner and not look like one.
I get approached for directions by people who assume Im Spanish because a) Im in Spain -or- b) I don´t look that different from a Spaniard with my (sort of) dark hair and dark eyes. What I find even more amusing is that I look at people and think, "oh, a foreigner` just because they look Western but then I hear then speak and realise no wait..they´re Spanish. You can´t easily distinguish here between the foreigners and natives...until we open our mouths that is :)
Class is going really well. Even though I know a good portion of the material from McNova, it still is good because they actually explain why we do something the way we do. Man it felt weird to have homework last night though. On a random note, for anyone who is in Madrid--do not eat at the Subway near Quevedo Metro en la Glorieta Quevedo--it is evil!
I like Spain and am so glad I came back but my living situation is pretty eh. There are five of us in the flat but there is no common area for us to really get to know each other in. There is also no phone, and no TV so I feel fairly cut off from the outside world. I may switch Net Cafes because this one doesnt seem to allow you to insert a Disk or CDRom and it would be a lot easier-not to mention cheaper- if I could type these out ahead of time and then just post them. Not to mention Id also be able to post photos when I take them.
OK..Off to veg, hope everyone is doing well.
